The short version
Vzzle itself sets no cookies at all. We use threelocalStorage entries for functional features, all first-party, none of which leave your device.
Cookies only enter the picture in two situations: advertising served by Google, and pressing Play on a game. Both are described below in detail.
Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device and sends back to a server with each request, which is what makes cookies useful for tracking. localStorage is a similar store, but its contents are never automatically transmitted anywhere; a site can only read it with code running on your device.
The distinction matters here. Our functional data uses localStorage specifically because it cannot be used to follow you between websites.
Essential and functional storage (first-party)
Set by Vzzle, never transmitted, and always active because the site cannot remember your basic preferences without them.
| Name | Type | What it does | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
vzzle:theme | localStorage | Stores light or dark mode. | When you clear site data |
vzzle:favorites | localStorage | The games you saved with the Save button. | When you clear site data |
vzzle:recent | localStorage | The last twelve games you opened. | When you clear site data |
Advertising cookies (third-party)
Vzzle is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and we cannot read them.
We do not run our own cookie banner. Google handles consent through its certified consent management platform: if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google shows you its own message and asks before personalised advertising cookies are used. Declining does not stop you using the site; it means the ads you see are non-personalised.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__gads, __gpi | Ad delivery, frequency capping and measurement. | Up to 13 months | |
IDE, DSID | Google (DoubleClick) | Ad personalisation and conversion measurement. | Up to 13 months |
NID, ANID | Preferences and personalisation across Google services. | Up to 6 months | |
test_cookie | Google (DoubleClick) | Checks whether the browser supports cookies at all. | 15 minutes |
Google may update its cookie set without notifying us. The authoritative, current list is published by Google at business.safety.google/adscookies. You can control personalisation directly at Google Ads Settings.
Game cookies (third-party, set when you press Play)
Games are not hosted by us. They load in an iframe from Playgama only after you click the Play button: this is why we do not autoload games, and it is a deliberate privacy decision rather than only a performance one.
Once a game is running it may set its own cookies and storage in order to:
- save your progress, levels and settings within that game
- serve advertising inside the game itself
- collect the developer’s own analytics
We have no visibility into or control over this data. It is governed by Playgama’s privacy policy and by the individual developer’s policy. If you would prefer no game cookies at all, do not press Play, browsing game pages, reading guides and using every other part of this site sets none.
What we deliberately do not use
To be explicit about the absences, because they are choices:
- No Google Analytics or any other general website analytics product.
- No social media pixels: no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no LinkedIn insight tag.
- No heatmapping or session recording.
- No email or newsletter tracking, because we do not send email.
- No fingerprinting or attempt to identify you without storage.
Managing and deleting cookies
To change your advertising choice: clear site data for https://vzzle.com in your browser. If Google’s consent message applies to you, it will ask again on your next visit and you can answer differently. You can also change personalisation at any time in Google Ads Settings.
To remove everything we store: clearing site data also deletes your saved games and theme preference.
To block cookies generally: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy settings: see the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge. Blocking all cookies will not break Vzzle, though it may affect games that save progress.
