Vzzle

Puzzle categories

Every game on Vzzle is filed under exactly one of six categories, so you always know what kind of thinking you are signing up for. Each category page includes a written introduction to the format and answers to the questions people ask about it.

How we categorise puzzle games

“Puzzle” covers a lot of ground. A Sudoku grid and a hidden object scene are both puzzles, but they ask for completely different things, one is sustained logical deduction, the other is visual search. Grouping them together is not useful to anyone trying to decide what to play.

So each game here sits in exactly one category, chosen by what the game actually asks you to do rather than by its theme. A merge game set in a café is still a merge game. Every category has at least three titles, which means each page is a real collection rather than a placeholder.

If you would rather see everything at once and filter it yourself, the all games page has search and category filters. For strategy by genre, the puzzle guides go considerably deeper than a category introduction can.
